You are always welcome back! As long as you use the same email address (you can reset your password at any time - we can’t remember ours after a few months let alone years), you will gain access to your original dashboard with all of your past resumes and cover letters for you to edit, tailor, add to and change.

The answer to that question is ‘your circumstances’. If you can’t afford to pay for a professional resume, or if you write quite well and just need some direction, you would be mad to pay anyone anything including us.

Your cover letter should be a personal letter to the person who is managing the hiring process. This is likely the person who will interview you, so it is important to treat this as your introduction to the decision-maker. Your cover letter needs to highlight what is in your resume, specifically the experience that is important to the role you are applying for, and it needs to stand on its own.

We view cover letters as a way of illustrating the strengths and skills you need for the particular role you are applying for. If they want someone who is an excellent communicator, prove you are by writing an excellent cover letter. If you sense they are after someone warm and with a sense of humour, let that shine through in your writing.
